Biking home from Erik’s this morning I saw a group of crows harassing a red-tailed hawk. This is a rather common occurrence: the crows are very territorial and often chase hawks away from campus. Crows and red tails are similar in size (crow: 16-20in long, hawk: 18-26in) so it seems like a reasonable fight to watch.

Today biking in to school though I saw a crow getting a hilarious taste of it’s own medicine: a couple of black phoebe’s were harassing a crow just like the crows harass the hawks. For size comparison, black phoebe’s are less than 6in long.
