Dear America,

Please bail out the auto makers.  If they fail, then many many other business in Michigan will go too.  By all means restructure.  Heck, I vote we draft Romney and have him run those companies for a year or so.  The lively-hood of too many people depends on those companies.  I’ve seen what happens when plants leave cities, and it’s terrifying to think of that happening state-wide.  Our state is already in deep enough as is.  Please let us keep the car companies.

Dear UAW,

Deal.  Accept what you’re offered.  You don’t get to win on this one.  No one does.  It sucks for all concerned.  But you can’t expect the auto makers to keep paying wages and benefits that are untenable.  You either get to take whatever else you may get offered, or you get to all be unemployed.  If your workers don’t like the wages they end up with, then they can go find other work.  No one can afford to pay you so much any more.  Make the best of this crap situation and move on.

Dear Big Three CEOs

  Grow a brain.  Please.

LOL so I make this comment only because of you saying something similar to me when I said “regulate the **** out of those banks because they screwed up”
You’re sounding like a REAL democrat here- give money to the big companies and tell the unions to give up.
lol I guess even people as liberal and conservative as the two of us have our breaking points.

    Lost in transit.
Apparently, the UAW didn’t get your letter.
But, it’s not as monstrously huge a deal as it’s been made out to be. Ford would most likely survive regardless, Chrysler would most likely tank regardless, and GM would (if their claims about running out of money are true) file bankruptcy, allowing it to restructure.
It won’t be the collapse of the auto industry that Gettelfinger has been all Chicken Little about.
