Excuse to think about Christmas

November 27, 2007

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper all the way. I love wrapping gifts – it’s almost my favorite part of giving them.

2. REAL OR FAKE TREE? Always a real tree. I do hope never to own a fake tree, ‘cept those cute little ones for an office or something.

3. When do you put up the tree? Whenever I figure out where to buy one in California.

4. When do you take the tree down? MY tree, the 16th before I leave for Michigan. My parent’s tree, a few days after Christmas.

5. Do you like eggnog? Eh, it’s alright. Anyone remember the time they spiked the Squad egg nog?

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Peppie :-)

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Somewhere we have a few…but we never put them out.

8. Hardest person to buy for? Dad.

9. Easiest person to buy for? Brothers – we give each other lists of cheap fun things.

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Um, honestly probably the lavender lacy underwear and bra Mom got me last year. She meant well, I know, but seriously, would I ever wear things like that?

11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. Maybe I’ll mail some this year…

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Charlie Brown Christmas!!

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? haha way too close to Christmas, ’cause I’m always busy with finals.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Prolly, though I can’t think of one right now.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Our Christmas tacos, mostly because it’s a hilarious tradition.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Color color color! Mom can have a classy tree all she wants with clear lights, but I like mine rainbow-y!

17. Favorite Christmas song? O Holy Night

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay home. Well, the drive to Blissfield for Christmas Eve Mass, and to Grandma Muck’s Christmas day, but that’s in Adrian.

19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? Yoooouuuu know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, but do you recall the most famous reindeer of all: Rudolf! Come on Meg, can’t believe you didn’t get that.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? None of the above. The ornament of the sibling stubborn enough to hang it highest.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning, with cinnamon rolls.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? How much people get obsessed with presents. It’s about the music and the tree and the family and all that jazz, people.

23. What I love most about Christmas? Hah see above. Snow, and traditions, and feeling happy. And Charlie Brown Christmas.
