Rent

December 10, 2005

So I saw “Rent” last night, after moving the date of seeing it for the millionth time. It was, well, amazing. Exactly what I wanted.
Sara asked me just a bit ago, when we managed to catch each other online, what it’s about. Katie’s right – it’s hard to discribe. It’s about seven friends who can’t make the rent, hence the name. It’s about aids, and gay culture (yay Angel!), and being different. It’s got plot points, but they’re not really important. Basically, though, it’s about love. Not gushy Valentine’s Day love, or lust, or anything like that. Just plain simple love for other people.
Do you ever wonder what they’ll say in the history books about that sort of thing?
